Case Study:
Leading High-Performing Senior Teams
After a Merger Challenge.

Following a major merger that positioned the company as the largest in its industry, leadership faced significant challenges in building an aligned culture across the two merged companies. Specifically, they needed to:

  • Create an enterprise-wide approach to leading globally diverse teams.

  • Empower team leaders to meet aggressive growth targets by overcoming a highly centralized decision-making culture.

Approach

I designed and co-facilitated a three-month developmental journey for two cohorts of 25 senior team leaders each. The program combined a team-based assessment, experiential workshops, small-group problems solving discussions, and activities to be applied to their own teams.

Results

The program successfully accelerated the merger integration by:

  • Building a unified approach to leading global teams -  Leaders from different regions and legacy organizations aligned on a shared approach to building high-performing teams greatly speeding up a successful merger integration.

  • Improving trust and collaboration between the two sets of legacy leaders - Leaders now saw each other as valued peer coaches, not the competition.
